the mountain blew again, this time
the wind dusted Portland and vicinity
with a light coating of ash, whereas we
were spared on the May 18 blast

dust masks were scarce, i drove to several places
before finally finding one

i wanted one mainly because i was going to mow
the yard, push-mower style, and the ash was puffing
around all over the city, and i especially didn't want
to breath it while exerting myself

funny, ex-hubby just sent this scanned slide to me a couple of weeks ago...

but for some unknown reason
i cut out the blue
from the neck and sleeves
