that's because we're a bunch of delusional LIBERALS

olbermann is the same as o'riley. he's a fucking nutjob. liberty does not equal safety; in fact, liberty is in direct contradiction with what olbermann is advocating. and safety is a complete illusion.

just because olbermann is just as mental as limbaugh does not make him a mental disease expert.

the FBI, with decades of profile experience, will be the first folks to tell you that a person that is disturbed enough to run out and murder someone like this is just making up an excuse in their mind. this attack has nothing to do with MSNBC's attacks on republicans fueling crazy leftists (which would be this case, if olbermann is to be believed).

the shooter guy has nothing to do with rhetoric or politics. he's just a sick, impotent-feeling man that wanted power over others.

the problem with politicizing this kind of attack is that it misses the cause in the first place - psychological impotence and identifying individuals that might need help.

we're in serious disagreement if you think olberman is the same as o'riley.

i do, and i say it not to inflame or cause rifts, or claim wrong or rightness. i say it just to have it said - known - that there is a viewpoint that sees all these research-less media nutjobs as the same - inflammatory, self-aggrandizing, polarizing. that is their job, otherwise they wouldn't have viewers, and they wouldn't be entertaining. they wouldn't keep us watching, listening.

remember MSNBC is one of those stations that has people trading their 401ks thinking as if they were wall street insiders. they cause more harm to the US populace than all the Nigerian scammers on the internet.

we should fear these people's words much more than our own.

I haven't heard any right wingers calling for a little restraint in vitriolic political rhetoric. Actually, what they're saying is just the opposite. This is my point, for one.

Also, yes, Olberman is definitely a leftist-progressive, and most certainly espouses that point of view, but he does NOT completely make up supposed "facts" like they do on Fox 'News'. I've watched both, and believe me I know the difference.

Those are my points, to be exact.

Of course the shooter was unbalanced. No one is arguing otherwise.

Also, propaganda is real, and works if one is a mindless drone. Lots of them out there.

the reason i stopped watching olbermann is because he was lying. he even lies in this clip, too. i choose not to listen to him anymore. i'll just leave it at that.

you, i choose to listen to. your opinion and feelings have much greater weight than tv's talking heads to me.

the least lying guy i've found is stewart.

since i've had to scale back my cable to the most basic of basic, i don't get any cnn or msnbc or anything of the like. i follow tweets, read crap, listen to crap, etc.
if i, as you say, had caught Olberman in outright lies (not sure the lie in this clip) i, well, can't watch him anyway so i can't stop watching anything but a special comment or two. i won't say he isn't a bit disingenuous at times, but.
yeah, i'll leave it at that, as well.

back atcha as to your feelings and opinions.

the only thing that bugs me about stewart is his claim that he himself isn't giving us news (re his interview with terry gross a few weeks ago). he is a comedian, yes, but he most certainly gives us news. i thought HE was disingenuous in that. otherwise, he's the man.

i'm thirsty. you thirsty?

On this issue - whether you are left, right, center - it should be obvious that references to guns and targets 'second amendment remedies' have no place in public life. I think the Arizona shooter was mentally ill, to the point this rhetoric would had little or no effect on his actions. However, there are a few borderline people out there who could be convinced they are being spoken to directly. Ok, maybe the chances of that happening are remote. However, in a civilized society - not some Banana Republic - its totally inappropriate to suggest 'second amendment remedies'.
