had a gig last evening out in farm country

other guitar player's friends were having a birthday party
their band was playing, we got an invite to open for them

we did

sorting things out


it was pretty fun and a new thing doing this and we rocked pretty good
and got compliments about being tight



in other news...

i went to bed friday night with my normal old skin and sun damage
and woke saturday morning to this on my left arm...



it doesn't hurt
no, it isn't a bruise
i know what it seems and appears to be
but you know

it's all good


and my right arm?
the pain has mostly settled in my elbow, which has a mound of flesh sort of on it
and aches pretty good this afternoon with some throbbing

i could be, uh..

you know


and of course
it's all good

an original song of mine that we did last month at centaurpallooza (and last night, but this is from last month, not last night; it was better last night)

i had the music and an idea
bliccy was over one day and listened to what i had and said hey, how about this idea?
and she gave me two lines in a different direction.
i said oh yeah, you should give me more.
she said yeah that's all i got is the two lines and the obsessiveness of the song
and i said well okay then
and i wrote the rest of the song

and this is it

this isn't a very clean version of it (we were in a highly stressful situation and went on early with other people's equipment, etc)
but it does capture the essence of the song


so, uh, yeah
