a_muse_dlong story short.
a driver's truck had hydraulic problems and rather than have him drive it back to portland last evening the boss called and wanted me to drive it back and give the driver the truck i was driving.
thus putting me out of work for the rest of the week. i mean, i wanted to come home but we had cushy digs finally, and there was only a couple of days left and i DEFINITELY didn't want to go back next week if the job's still going. BUT, he gets to work the rest of the week and i don't. because he's a boy. and probably handier at fixing little stuff if a small problem develops or something.

but it was nice to snuggle with mu ch'i last night in my own bed.
the drive back was in the dark in pouring rain all the way.
i don't see well in the dark, which is one reason i won't work nights. it's scary because i have to guess and i don't like guessing in my car, let alone in a large dump truck. and in the rain it is ten times worse. AND the headlights weren't adjusted properly, so they lit up the road signs just fine 50 yards down the road, but not on the road in front of me. highly stressful two hour drive.
