Mar. 3rd, 2012 01:43 pmlooks like we have a new guitar player in the band. he'll be by for the third time tomorrow, and as far as i can tell he's going to be okay. this gives me room to expand on my playing, do more fills and leads, as it were. he's still learning songs and of course will take time.
he's on the young side of the player we were looking for. 35. and he's been playing for years but never played WITH people before. so it was quite brave of him to show up and audition/jam with us.
we're having lots of patience with him, helping him along with our songs. he likes our action pretty much. i told him i'm the youngest band member. 29. but that i've had a hard life. it broke the ice and got laughs all around.
my computer chair that i bought in phoenix in 2000 or 1999 or something decided it was going to dump me on the floor, but i wised up and gave it the bum's rush. found a faux leather one on craigslist yesterday for $10. fucking score. it's in very good condition with no major flaws and may last me another 12+ years. :D
it is very mild out right now, like 55f, and i may get out and walk to Staples and look at paper shredders.
i've been going to Guitar Center on saturday mornings for their FREE hour long sessions on teaching Garageband. of course, they hope we'll buy gear of some sort while we're there. after the class this morning i looked at a '96 white mexican fender strat. played it a bit (unplugged; i almost never plug in...too shy) i won't buy it because i don't have the money and anyway i had to sell the almost same guitar last year. that was painful, as i really liked it.
so well then anyway
fresh air beckons since my nap and this cup of tea are both over and gone
