mostly empty...maintenance? Prolly.
Reservoir clouds

From the time I was 8 years old, until I graduated high school and left my parents' house, we lived (two different houses; we moved a bit) 9 and 6 blocks from Mt. Tabor, respectively. One day I wandered off and found the entrance and walked a couple hundred feet into the park and saw a squirrel for the first time. I was ecstatic. Ran home to say.
Mid teens. When they drained for maintenance, they would tar the cracks like they did the streets back then. My bunch tossed over our skateboards and climbed the fence, skated a short while, got back out before being caught.
Wheels back then were crap, not the way better composition wheels they have now. If you hit a seed or pebble with the old wheels you came to an abrupt stop, ended up flying off the board, and if agile enough you caught your balance and didn't hit the ground. Plenty of skinned knees and hands and elbows back then.
One sweltering summer evening at dusk a few of us climbed the fence and went for a very cold swim. We didn't pee in the water or anything. We weren't that. We were hot. Cooled off and out quick.
People are trying to save the reservoirs. Looks like it will happen but they will be taken off-line in the near future. No more open air reservoirs per the Feds.
At least they will still be there, because they are part of the personality of the park.
And they are lovely
