This is where Mu Ch'i spends most of her day. I keep her food on the bed so MauMau doesn't eat it, because Mau is a horse, and can't be trusted. Smoochers seems to eat plenty but is so so thin it freaks me out. I know she's winding down, and very well might not make it to her 19th birthday this Memorial Day weekend. I still think Mau sneaks up on the bed and eats her food when I'm away and Mooch is sleeping but so far I haven't caught her.




A couple of long days last week, a couple of short days, and no work yesterday again.

I'm mos def in job hunting mode. I'm so irritated I can't even begin. There is no reason, with all the work out there, that we're not working every day right now. The owner can't be bothered to actively seek work for us, and he doesn't care if the trucks sit because after seven of our trucks burned up last year, the insurance money paid off the other six trucks, and as he's said several times, we're not a trucking company, we are a demolition/excavation contracting company that uses our own trucks for our own jobs. But the new contract with a big company doesn't come into play yet. So, if another outfit needs trucks they call and ask for a couple of ours. That's why we're working at all.

Trust me, all the drivers are going broke, and pissed. But no one really wants to job hunt because it's a royal pain in the ass to get a CDL driving job, and we've been here for several years and don't really want to leave.


I have a job interview at 1pm today, but I'm afraid they don't pay nearly enough. We'll see.
