No update for quite some time about the moms and her health. Mostly because there is nothing at all good to say about it. And since it's been so long, there is too much to say now. She's been in a rehabilitation place for a month now, very clean, attentive staff. A place where some patients come and go, others don't. The moms won't.
She never rebounded from surgery and radiation, has been failing and has basically given up. She eats and drinks less than a bird, is down to 71 lbs. She has stage four lung cancer that spread to her brain, COPD/emphysema, and some dementia. Our efforts over the past six + months to get her to eat more have failed.
She rallied fairly well after the passing of my stepfather of over 50 years, two and a half years ago, even started driving again. But with the cancer diagnosis last summer, and the following treatments, she feels there is nothing to go home for and is very, very weak. We visit her daily. I'm not sure for how much longer.
That's the abbreviated version. Bleak.
And so...
